Wet Canadians in Market Lavington

We have already featured the Canadian soldiers who came to the area in World War One, to train here before being sent into Europe. (See Watching the Canadian troops, which will give you two further links to click on.)

The weather wasn’t kind to the Canadians in the winter of 1914-15. At the museum, we have a booklet about the Canadian Expeditionary Force in the first world war.

We know that homes in Market Lavington became billets for some of their soldiers and that horses were stabled here too. (See Canadians’ horses in Market Lavington.)

Can you add anything to this or do you want to know more?
