Today is the day of the Market Lavington Village Fete. If you get a chance, do come down to Clyffe Hall in the village (you can park at Lavington School) and enjoy guessing our mystery items. To set you on your way, here’s one of the items we’ll have on display.
Do you know what this is? There’ll be no prizes here for telling us, but there will be, for the best identification of ten mystery objects at the fete.
On the Market Lavington Museum stand you’ll be able to see photographs of Clyffe Hall, its lake and cottage in times past and also some of the people who have lived there.
And of course, there will also be stalls from many other village organisations so there will be much to do and enjoy.
Let’s finish with a reminder of past days, with children around a horse drawn maypole in the 1920s. We have no information about this card at the museum but perhaps it had been a carnival procession for a Hospital Week.
We do hope to see you this afternoon.
