A picture to identify

A picture from the 1970s recently offered to Market Lavington Museum

This colour photo would appear to date from the 1970s. It was recently brought to the museum by a couple who didn’t really know why they had it. They certainly had no idea just where it was taken and what the occasion was. We are fairly sure that is the yard behind the former Kings Arms pub on High Street, Market Lavington.

One person in the photo is positively identified as a Market Lavington resident.

This is Percy Wilkins. We have met him before on this blog (click here).

Maybe these other photos of people will help people to help us. Just when, why and where did these people meet together?

This Photo was taken in the back yard of the Kings Arms public house, Each year Steam engine enthusiasts would gather for the weekend brought together by the chap in the photo bottom left with the badged hat (john Kyte) who’s garden adjoined the pub’s, needless to say many a pint of ale was drunk throughout the Weekend!
