Another Easterton Poem

Today we look, once more, at an extract from the Easterton Echoes newsletter. This one comes from the March 1978 issue. Here is the preamble.

Once again, we are reminded that as recently as 1978 newsletters like this were produced on a typewriter. People didn’t have word processors so mistakes were not easily rectified. Phrases such as ‘desk top publishing’ were still in the future.

And now the poem which followed.

Poem ‘Easterton Echoes’ by ‘Anon’

Sadly this was composed by ‘anon’. We guess it was an evacuee sent, for safety to Easterton and clearly the author enjoyed the rural life. In a short poem our anonymous writer has given a glimpse of life through the seasons and the tasks that a farmer’s lad did some 70 years ago.
