Lock’s Sands

At the top of Northbrook, in Market Lavington, there is a track. We have already featured Ron Kimmer there in One man built a bungalow. That was in 1952 and he was Building Locksands Farm.

Our blog entry Northbrook Allotments shows this postcard.

It also features in the local history book ‘Village under the Plain’, where it is captioned ‘Harvesting at Lock’s Sands, Northbrook, circa 1914. The crop was probably potatoes. The bearded gentleman in Francis Pinchin.’

Next time, we will look at the map where areas with the Lock’s Sands name were up for sale by auction in 1916.
