We have met James Mullings – 1811 – 1860 before and seen a black and white picture of him. In that blog entry, we thought that James, of the local basket making dynasty, might not have moved to Market Lavington.
However, in our museum we do have a copy of a coloured painting of this man.

On the back of the record card for this photograph there is some information about his basket making family.

So, maybe James was in Market Lavington for the last few years of his life.
We have a display of some Mullings family baskets and tools upstairs in the museum.
