An Easterton donation

At Market Lavington Museum, we have often said how pleased we are that, for many decades, our founder, Peggy Gye, put together scrap books of news cuttings about the village. We have featured some of these in many of our blog entries. (See, for example, Museum scrapbooks, Scrapbook, Tudor cottage and dipping well, The 1993 canoe race and The death of a village photographer.)

Our museum covers Easterton as well as Market Lavington and, this week, we were delighted to receive a donation of ring binders containing historical information about Easterton as well as photos, programmes, memoirs and newscuttings together with four scrap books of later newscuttings from 1974-1989 carefully put together by the donor.

These will be accessioned into our museum collection and, no doubt, various items from them will feature in our blog from time to time.

Can you add anything to this or do you want to know more?
