More mole traps

Our previous blog entry, Mole Traps, featured a scissors style trap in Market Lavington Museum, but mentioned that it is but one of ten we have in our collection. Most of them date from the mid twentieth century. Moles were more of a problem to farmers when machinery was horse drawn. Tractors are not likely to fall into mole tunnels.

Here are some more of our traps.

Amongst the styles described on our record cards are scissors mole trap, various wood and copper alloy traps, an iron half barrel trap, a wooden whole barrel trap and an iron Anglo Impassable mole trap.
