Football Club Whitsun Fayre

In the 1970s, 80s and into the 90s, Market Lavington and Easterton Football club put on a weekend of activities in the spring. In the earlier years, this was called the Whitsun Fayre, later changing its name to the Spring Fayre.

We have already featured their Spring Fayre programme 1990, describing a whole range of events over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Our recent blog entry, Kytes Cottage, Market Lavington, reminded us of the rallies held by John Kyte in the garden behind his High Street home and showed our drawer of memento plaques, produced each year.

In the glass topped drawer at the museum, immediately below these, we see that plaques were also produced for the Football club fayres. They surround that 1990 programme mentioned above.
